The 8 Best Wine Bars in Bangkok, and How a Sommelier Chooses One
Eight Bangkok wine bars worth an evening, from Bang Rak to Ari, with what each pours, where it sits and the five checks a trained sommelier makes before ordering a glass.
In short
Eight Bangkok wine bars ordered by area, from Sathorn and Silom to Thonglor and Ari, with what each is known for, the recognition it holds and how to judge any wine bar yourself. Checked against Star Wine List, Tatler Asia, Time Out Bangkok and venue listings in October 2026; the latest listings we found for Botti (July 2025) and The Bottleman (March 2026) are older, so confirm both are open.
Reserve a tableThe best wine bars in Bangkok as of October 2026 are these eight: Mod Kaew Wine Bar on Sathorn Soi 12, Botti Wine Bar in Bang Rak, The Wine Merchant Park Silom on Silom Road, The Bottleman Wine Bar on Witthayu Road, Bisou on Soi Langsuan, a modern French restaurant whose bar takes walk-ins for a glass, MUST Wine Bar in Thonglor, Unscene Wine Bar on Sukhumvit Soi 49 and No Bar Wine Bar in Ari. Mod Kaew Wine Bar is the strongest all-round choice: it holds a Silver Star at Star Wine List of the Year Southeast Asia 2026 and won the first Best Wine Bar award at the Bangkok Bar Show in 2025.
This guide is organised by area, not by rank, because the right wine bar in Bangkok is the one on your side of the city. Recognition was checked against Star Wine List, Tatler Asia and Time Out Bangkok in October 2026. The latest listings we found for Botti (July 2025) and The Bottleman Wine Bar (March 2026) are older than that check, so confirm both are open before you travel. Opening hours move often in this part of the trade, so we give them where listings publish them and say so where they disagree.
How a sommelier chooses a wine bar
A good wine bar answers five questions before you sit down, and you can check all of them from the door. Edouard Marquis, Bisou Bangkok's director of operations, worked as a sommelier at Le Clarence in Paris and at Restaurant Patrick Guilbaud in Dublin, both of which hold two MICHELIN stars as of 2026. These are the checks that training leaves you with.
- Is the by-the-glass list short and changing? A list that rotates every week or two means bottles are opened to be finished, not to sit. Unscene changes its list every two weeks, and No Bar Wine Bar describes its list as ever shifting.
- Does one person own the list? A list with a point of view beats a list with everything. Ask who chose the bottle in your hand.
- Can the staff say why a wine is on the menu? One sentence about the grower is enough. A shrug is the answer.
- Is there something to eat that is not an afterthought? Cheese, charcuterie or a kitchen that cooks, not crisps in a bowl.
- Is the glass right? A thin rim and a proper bowl change what the wine shows. It is the cheapest sign of care a bar can give.
1. Mod Kaew Wine Bar, Sathorn Soi 12
Mod Kaew is one of Bangkok's most awarded wine bars: Silver Star at Star Wine List of the Year Southeast Asia 2026, Silver Star at the Asia edition in 2025, and the inaugural Best Wine Bar at the Bangkok Bar Show 2025. It sits at 142 Soi Sueksa Wittaya, off Sathorn Soi 12 in Bang Rak, opposite the Asai Sathorn hotel.
Tatler Asia's July 2025 guide counts more than 100 low-intervention wines on the list, strong on French and Spanish naturals, with guest chefs now and then. Time Out Bangkok's Thai listing gives daily hours of 4 PM to 1 AM. A Made in City listing, which is undated, recommends booking for weekends, so message the bar before a weekend visit. Mod Kaew Wine Bar
2. Botti Wine Bar, Bang Rak
Botti is the small one: a few tables on the second floor of a house more than 140 years old, with bottles chosen by the owner. The Standard's Thai edition described it in May 2023 as a hidden wine bar upstairs in a house it called, so to speak, the last one in the area, and Tatler Asia listed it in its Bangkok wine bar guide of July 2025.
The sources disagree on the address: The Standard places it on Sathorn Soi 12, while Tatler Asia prints 201 Narathiwat Ratchanakarin Road. The hours are old and conflict as well. The Standard gave 6 PM to midnight, closed Tuesdays, in May 2023, while snippets of the bar's Instagram show 6 PM to midnight, closed Sundays. We found no 2026 confirmation that Botti is open, so check its Instagram (@botti.bkk) or message the bar before you go. If it is trading, pair it with Mod Kaew in the same district for a two-stop evening.
3. The Wine Merchant Park Silom, Silom Road
The Wine Merchant Park Silom is the classicist's choice: European appellations first, a few blue-chip American houses, and a kitchen built around cured meats, cheeses and pasta. It won a Gold Star for Best Bordeaux Wine List at Star Wine List of the Year Southeast Asia 2026, and The Wine Merchant group describes it as its most ambitious wine bar to date. It sits on the ground floor of the Park Silom development on Silom Road. Go here when you want a Burgundy or a Piedmont with something from the cured meat and cheese board. The Wine Merchant
4. The Bottleman Wine Bar, Witthayu Road
The Bottleman Wine Bar is the minimalist room near All Seasons Place, with more than 170 labels, 24 wines rotating by the glass and live saxophone from Thursday to Saturday. Those are Tatler Asia's figures from July 2025; The Beat Asia's March 2026 guide gives 150 to 170 labels, so treat the count as approximate.
This is the least-verified bar in the guide. We found no 2026 editorial review, and the most recent listing we found is from March 2026, so check its Instagram before you go. Hours conflict between sources, with one listing showing Monday to Saturday from 5 PM and another showing a Sunday opening, so confirm before you travel. It is the practical choice if your evening starts on Wireless Road.
5. Bisou, Soi Langsuan
Bisou Bangkok is a modern French restaurant first and a wine bar second, MICHELIN Selected in 2025 and 2026, and it belongs here because its bar takes walk-ins for a glass without a table, when there is room. Sommelier and co-founder Théo Lavergne built a cellar of classic French appellations beside small-grower bottles, and director of operations Edouard Marquis, a former sommelier at Le Clarence in Paris and Restaurant Patrick Guilbaud in Dublin, brings a second sommelier's eye to the room. The bar serves cocktails and wine alongside a kitchen that cooks the full carte until a midnight last food order. Tatler Asia described Bisou as "a chic French gastro-wine bar" in its Best Restaurants Thailand 2025 list, and the MICHELIN Guide inspectors wrote that Bisou "delivers sexy simplicity through modern French cuisine, prioritising premium ingredients."
Bisou is at 68 Soi Langsuan 9, about two minutes from BTS Chit Lom, open nightly from 5:30 PM to 1 AM. Come for a glass at the bar, or book the five-course sharing menu at 3,400 THB per person before service and VAT; the full price is explained in what a dinner costs in Bangkok on a real bill. More on the room in Bisou Bangkok: everything to know before you book. Reserve a table
6. MUST Wine Bar, Thong Lo Soi 13
MUST Wine Bar has one of the longest lists in this guide: more than 500 labels, with bar bites and a weekend brunch. Tatler Asia counted more than 600 rotating labels in July 2025, while BK Magazine's 2026 guide, Coravin's September 2026 guide and the venue say 500 or more, so treat the number as approximate. It is on the second floor of SODALITY at 263 Thong Lo Soi 13, and won a Silver Star for Best Austrian Wine List at Star Wine List of the Year Asia 2025.
Time Out Bangkok lists Tuesday to Friday 2 PM to 11 PM, Saturday and Sunday 11 AM to 11 PM, and closed Monday. Other listings disagree, so check the bar's Instagram (@mustwinebar) before you go, especially for a weekend brunch.
7. Unscene Wine Bar, Sukhumvit Soi 49
Unscene is the natural wine bar that helped start the city's habit: a second-floor room at the Soi 49 entrance with more than 50 labels and a list that changes every two weeks. Tatler Asia placed it first in its Bangkok wine bar guide of July 2025. The Standard's guide of 1 March 2023 lists it as open Tuesday to Sunday from 5 PM to midnight and closed on Monday, but that listing is more than three years old, so confirm on the bar's Facebook page before you go.
8. No Bar Wine Bar, Soi Phahon Yothin 2
No Bar is the natural wine specialist, a short walk from BTS Ari, pouring natural and minimal-intervention wines from a list the bar calls ever shifting. It began as an online bottle shop for natural wine and now runs a physical bar at 128/10 Soi Phahon Yothin 2. Time Out Bangkok and Asia City both give Wednesday to Sunday, 6 PM to midnight. It is the best answer here to the question of what to drink if you are tired of the classics.

How to plan a wine evening in Bangkok
The simplest plan is two stops within one area, a bar for the first glass and a table for dinner. In Bang Rak, Mod Kaew and Botti are in the same district, once you have confirmed Botti is open. Near Chit Lom, start at the Bottleman (check its Instagram first) and walk or take the BTS to Soi Langsuan for dinner at Bisou. For a later finish, our guide to where to eat late in Bangkok lists kitchens that cook past midnight, and the most romantic restaurants in Bangkok covers the table for two.
Ask the price of a bottle before it is opened, and remember that menu prices in Bangkok are usually quoted before the 10 percent service charge and 7 percent VAT.
A glass at the bar, or a table for dinner
Modern French, plated to share, two minutes from BTS Chit Lom. Open nightly from 5:30 PM, with the last food order at midnight.
